OUT Conference: Commerce Undergraduate Society at UBC

Get ready to be inspired by members of Vancouver’s thriving business community. Join us at OUT, the one and only annual conference dedicated to Sauder’s LGBTQ2+ students and allies! RSVP TODAY to learn from keynote speakers and network with professionals!

Opening the night is Jessie Anderson, the owner of Big Bro’s Barbershop – Vancouver’s first trans owned and operated barbershop. In addition to styling hair, Jessie enhances the lives of Vancouver’s trans community, regularly hosting local artists, contributing to social efforts (i.e., the Trans March and Black Lives Matter), and committing to sliding scale pricing that ensures equitable access for all peoples. For these efforts, Anderson won “Best Emerging Entrepreneur” at the Small Business BC Awards in 2016.

Our final speaker is Tara Robertson, the former global diversity and inclusion lead for Mozilla. A self-described queer intersectional feminist, Tara has been championing the cause of equality and inclusion within the tech sector for over 10 years, travelling the world to speak on issues concerning Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in business. Bringing together a love for the qualitative and quantitative, Tara advocates for the corporate equality of all peoples through her strong command of research and data analysis.
